When is the last time that you stepped back from your photo business and looked at the big picture? Often we get so entrenched in day-to-day operations (photos, clients, social media, finances, etc) that we might lose sight of longer-term goals or industry trends.
Last weekend I took the train up to Seattle, stayed a couple nights in a nice hotel, connected with a few friends, and created some images. I also spent quite a bit of time looking at the industry, the market in which I work, and thinking about my business and marketing plans for the remainder of 2011.
Whether you physically get away from usual life and usual distractions or you do it in a familiar environment, spend a day or two thinking about longer-term goals and plans.
